Welcome!

Hello hello! My name is Nathan Jacquez and I am a counselor practicing in the Salt Lake area. My specialty is in providing counseling for survivors of domestic violence, also known as interpersonal violence (IPV). I received a Masters degree in Applied Psychological Science from Pacific University. I was on the Clinical Psychology track, which allowed me to gain clinical experience providing counseling to survivors of domestic violence. I completed an internship at the Domestic Violence Resource Center in Beaverton, OR. There I provided individual and group counseling to survivors of domestic violence and their children. My clients ranged in age from 5 years old to 60+, and I provided counseling for male and female identified survivors of domestic violence. I also had the opportunity to create a psychoeducational support group for women in the local community corrections center that focused on healthy relationships, boundaries, and the dynamics of domestic violence (e.g. warning signs, power and control, types of abuse, etc.). My experience at the DVRC was transformational for me and I developed a deep appreciation and fulfillment from the work. I am very excited to continue this work here and to reach the survivors and those affected by domestic violence.

I’ve created this website to provide more information about my work. This blog will serve as a place for me to write about domestic violence, methods of treatment, fun exercises, and anything else I can think of. Please feel free to leave comments as I would like to hear from all of you what you would like to learn more about, and whether the posts are providing effective information or not. I look forward to adding more posts and connecting with all of you!
